Measuring Made Simple

Because choosing curtains should feel effortless, we’ve created a quick guide to help you measure with confidence.

Follow these three straightforward steps to get the perfect fit.

How to measure for your curtain rod width — showing the correct way to measure beyond the window frame for the perfect fit.

1. Measure Your Window Width

Use a tape measure to find the full width of your window, including any trim.

Your Curtain Rod should extend at least 10-20cm beyond each side of the window frame. This:

  • Creates the illusion of a wider window
  • Allows your curtains to stack back neatly when open, allowing more natural light in

Rod Sizes Tip: our modular rods are adjustable to fit a variety of window widths up to 3.05 metres wide.

2. Measure Your Window Height

Determine how high above the window you'd like to position the curtain rod, we recommend 10 - 20cm above the frame or mount it closer to the ceiling for a more elevated look.

Then measure from that point down to your desired curtain drop (e.g. just grazing the floor or softly puddling).

3. Select Your Curtain Size

With your width and height measurements in hand, select a curtain size that will create the look you’re after.

Please Note: our curtains are sold individually. For a complete, designer look, we recommend two curtains per curtain rod.

We suggest:

  • Rod up to 1.5M Wide: 2x 135cm Wide Curtains
  • Rod up to 3.05M Wide: 2x 210cm Wide Curtains

Remember, always round UP for a more intentional look.
