How to Install Your Curtain Rod
What You'll Need:
- Measuring tape
- Power drill or screwdriver
- Level or ruler
- Your curtains (to check placement before final install)
Ensure the wall surface is clean and dry before installation.

1. Measure & Mark
Decide where you want your rod to sit. For a designer look, we recommend you:
- Mount the rod 10–20cm above the window frame or closer to the ceiling for a more elevated, custom look.
- Extend your rod 10-20cm past each side of the window frame (if you have room) to create the illusion of a wider window.

2: Install the Brackets
- First, check for a wood frame or another solid anchor point behind the gib for extra stability for the brackets.
- Use a pencil to mark bracket positions on both sides, making sure they’re level. You’ll need a bracket at each end of the rod, plus one in the centre for added support.
- Drill holes where you've made your bracket marks.
- Insert wall anchors provided if needed (especially if drilling into gib only).
- Screw the brackets in securely.
Pro Tip: use a level to double check both sides are even before securing.

3. Assemble the Rod
- Screw the rod pieces together to create your desired width.
- Place the slightly longer outer rods on each end and attach the finials.
- Slide your curtains onto the rod before hanging. Choose either the relaxed pleat (back tab) or rod pocket heading depending on your desired look.

4: Hang Your Curtains
- Place the rod onto the mounted brackets.
- Tighten the bracket screws into the rod for added stability.
Then step back and style:
- Let the curtain just graze the floor or puddle slightly depending on your look
- Adjust the fabric for even, soft pleats and a balanced finish.
- Lightly press with a cool iron or steamer for a polished look.
Relaxed Pleat (Back Tab) Tip:
If you’ve chosen a back tab header, position the last tab on each end after the bracket. This allows for smooth opening and closing without catching or bunching.

Caring For Your Curtain Rod
- When it’s time to clean, simply slide your curtains off and give the rod a wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners to maintain its beautiful finish.
